Jontai Reynolds chose obedience with tears in her eyes and no idea where she was headed. She had the career, the title, the income, and the relationships that most people would call success. And she walked away from all of it because God called her somewhere else. What followed was the creation of the About HER Business Podcast, the relaunch of Healing Through Chaos, and the About HER Network, community platforms built on storytelling, healing, and empowerment. Jontai knows what it feels like to be silenced, unseen, and misunderstood. That is exactly why she builds spaces where no one has to be.

Let's lean in.

Tell us who you are and what is your God-driven purpose?

My name is Jontai Reynolds, and my God-given purpose is to create safe and authentic communities for people who may feel silenced, unseen, or misunderstood. Throughout my life, I have experienced rejection, betrayal, addiction, and seasons of sexual immorality. Those experiences became part of my healing journey and ultimately shaped my calling. As I began healing, I developed a deep passion for helping others navigate their own journeys toward freedom, wholeness, and self-acceptance.

One of the greatest lessons I learned is that healing often begins when people realize they are not alone. My purpose is to create spaces where people feel safe enough to share their truth, embrace authenticity, and begin healing without judgment.

What was your first encounter with God and how did you know you were saved?

My first encounter with God happened when I was very young, around five years old. I grew up hearing my parents and grandparents speak about God often. My father would read Scripture to us, teach us how to pray, and make sure we attended church regularly. Hearing them talk about God’s goodness made me curious to know Him for myself.

I remember one day, after having a difficult day, I went into a quiet room in our home and simply called on God. In that moment, I felt an overwhelming peace come over me that I could not fully explain. It was gentle, but it was real. At the time, I did not completely understand what I experienced, but looking back now, I recognize it as one of my earliest encounters with God’s presence.

Years later, during a near-death experience, I felt that same peace come over me again. That moment confirmed for me that God had always been with me, even in my darkest seasons. Those encounters strengthened my faith and deepened my understanding of what it truly means to be saved and covered by God’s grace.

Many of us want to be successful. What does success mean to you?

Success means something very different to me than what society promotes. For me, success is not measured by money, status, luxury, or popularity.

Success is building a community where people genuinely feel supported, valued, and free to be themselves. It means creating opportunities for others, especially for people who may not have had access, guidance, or representation. It means being of service and using my platform to uplift others instead of only elevating myself. True success, to me, is seeing people heal, grow, and walk confidently in who God created them to be.

When God gave you a vision for your life and work, what did it look like? Are you working to fulfill it? How?

The vision God gave me was to build what I did not have during some of the hardest seasons of my life: a safe place to land, a voice, and a space where I was free to be my true self. During my healing journey, I realized that if I wanted to see a world where people could truly live openly and honestly without fear of judgment, I would have to help create it.

That vision became the foundation for the work I do today. Through my blogs, podcasts, advocacy work, and community platforms, I am intentionally building spaces centered around collaboration, healing, and empowerment. I truly believe I am actively walking in the vision God placed on my life.

What does being a SAVEDpreneur™ mean to you? What is your kingdom assignment and how are you carrying out your assignment now?

Being a SAVEDpreneur™ means walking fully in purpose. It is not about money, status, recognition, or social media validation. It is about how many lives you can positively affect while remaining obedient to the assignment God has given you. It also means choosing courage instead of fear, so the people connected to your purpose can genuinely find and relate to you.

My Kingdom assignment is to help those who may have been silenced in their situations by creating platforms and opportunities to share their stories with the world.

What did God call you to build, and how did you know? What steps did you take to be obedient? How quickly did it take you to answer the call?

Leadership has always been a recurring theme throughout my life and career. However, after experiencing an extremely stressful work environment, I eventually made the difficult decision to walk away from my job. Deep down, I knew God was calling me into something different, but it took me about five months to fully surrender and answer that call.

My first act of obedience was starting my blog, TaiCorner Blogs. At the time, I struggled with a fear of public speaking, but I knew I had to move beyond fear and begin sharing my story. As I opened up about experiencing reactive abuse, people naturally began connecting with the message. Eventually, I felt God calling me to speak publicly. I initially launched a podcast with my sisters because it felt safe and familiar. However, due to scheduling conflicts, I let fear kick in and stepped away to focus on school, something I now recognize as partial disobedience.

About a year later, while I was in school, I began feeling that same conviction again. This time, I chose to fully embrace what God had been placing in my spirit all along. That obedience led to the creation of the About HER Business Podcast, the relaunch of Healing Through Chaos, and the launch of About HER Network, all community platforms dedicated to supporting and helping others through storytelling, healing, and empowerment.

Where did obedience cost you something—money, time, identity, approval? And how did you handle the tension?

At one point, I had the career, the title, the influence, the income, and the relationships that many people would consider successful, and I felt that without them I had no identity.

However, when God calls, you answer.

In the process of walking away, I lost close friends, family, financial stability, and even how I viewed myself. But through those losses, I remained anchored in my faith. If I had stayed where I was, it would have cost me my peace, my integrity, and ultimately my purpose. So with tears in my eyes and not knowing where I was headed, I chose obedience anyway.

Looking back now, I understand that sometimes God has to get your attention in order to fulfill His purpose in your life. Every relationship I lost, every setback I experienced, and every uncomfortable season became part of the process that shaped me into who I truly am today.
