The SAVEDpreneur™ Spotlight: Jeremiah Baxter, Founder of Celibate App

In my walk with Jesus, my obedience cost me old friends, family, and old relationships that weren’t on the same path as me. Staying focused on Jesus is how I handle the tension that comes with following the narrow path.

Jeremiah Baxter is not building a dating app. He is building a community. As the founder of Celibate — a dating app for celibate and abstinent singles now available on the App Store and Google Play — he is carving out intentional space in one of the noisiest digital landscapes that exists. His message is simple and uncompromising: purpose over profits, depth over convenience, and righteousness over relevance. In a world that celebrates casual everything, Jeremiah is building something countercultural. And he is doing it on purpose.

Let's lean in.

Tell us who you are and what is your God-driven purpose?

As a disciple and follower of Jesus, my God-given purpose is to spread the gospel and develop and foster healthy communities based on godly principles.

What does it mean to be saved and how do you live a saved lifestyle?

To be saved means to deny yourself and follow Jesus. It means to allow the Holy Spirit to transform your mind, will, and emotions.

Many of us want to be successful. What does success mean to you?

Success means the recognition of our daily dependence on God. As a believer, success means overcoming the temptation and outward pressure to revert back to past patterns of sin to pursue our higher, Christ-led purpose and calling.

What does having “vision” mean to you? What is your vision?

A godly vision means walking in purpose beyond your own desires by choosing humility over status. As Jesus said, “The greatest among you will be your servant.”

What does being a SAVEDpreneur™ mean to you? What is your kingdom assignment and how are you carrying out your assignment now?

Being a SAVEDpreneur™ means purpose over profits. My Kingdom assignment is discipleship through the creation of a Christ-driven community that promotes righteous lifestyles.

What did God call you to build, and how did you know? What steps did you take to be obedient? How quickly did it take you to answer the call?

God called me to build an online dating app now available on the App Store and Google Play called Celibate — for celibate and abstinent singles dating with intention. Sin always feels like freedom until you try to stop.

Where did obedience cost you something—money, time, identity, approval? And how did you handle the tension?

In my walk with Jesus, my obedience cost me old friends, family, and old relationships that weren’t on the same path as me. Staying focused on Jesus is how I handle the tension that comes with following the narrow path.
