The SAVEDpreneur™ Spotlight: Ashley Watkins, Founder of Crown & Co. Marketing
Surrendering my business to God changed the trajectory entirely. Obedience to God has given me more peace, less anxiety, more aligned clients, and less strife.
Ashley Watkins was 14 years old, in the middle of trauma and pain at home, when God told her to go to church. She went. And in that quiet act of obedience, a relationship began that would shape everything she would eventually build. Today, as the founder of Crown & Co. Marketing — a social media agency dedicated to Faith-Based businesses — Ashley uses her expertise to help Kingdom brands fulfill their missions online. She has strayed, returned, burned out, and surrendered. And she will be the first to tell you: the moment she handed her business to God, everything changed.
Let's lean in.
Tell us who you are and what is your God-driven purpose?
My name is Ashley Watkins. I am a woman of God, mom, wife, and founder of Crown & Co. Marketing, a social media agency dedicated to Faith-Based businesses. My God-given purpose is to share my knowledge and expertise with the world to help Faith-Based brands fulfill their missions.
Who first introduced you to God and what was your salvation experience?
I grew up in church and was very involved, but I was too young to understand what it meant to be saved. When I was around the age of 14, I experienced trauma at home and a lot of mental and emotional pain. God told me to go to church. At that age, I started talking to God — and He was talking back. I started to learn and get to know God for myself.
Over the years I have strayed from God and had to return to draw near Him again. Now, every day I work toward holiness and enriching my relationship with Him.
Many of us want to be successful. What does success mean to you?
Success for me means I have influenced people to trust the Lord with their lives. There is material success, and of course I want my business to succeed — to help my family, break generational curses of poverty, and pour into my community. However, more souls saved is the ultimate win.
If you could partner with anyone to fulfill your vision, who would you work with and why?
If I could partner with anyone to fulfill the vision I have for my life, it would be the body of Christ. The church is where people can grow in the Lord, but the church is also where people sometimes target their anger and hurt. Some of that anger comes from a lack of structure, order, and administrative excellence.
My vision is to use my skills to help churches overcome the stigma people have about them. If churches can operate with excellence in all areas — including marketing — they can attract more people toward the light.
What does being a SAVEDpreneur™ mean to you? What is your kingdom assignment and how are you carrying out your assignment now?
To be a SAVEDpreneur™ means aligning my business’s identity, purpose, and values with Scripture and what God wants for His people. I am carrying out my assignment by using my influence to help business owners weave Biblical principles into their lives and businesses to awaken the fruits of the Spirit.
What did God call you to build, and how did you know? What steps did you take to be obedient? How quickly did it take you to answer the call?
God called me to build a marketing hub for Christ-filled CEOs. It took me too long to answer the call — especially when I was closest to God in my stormy season. I struggled to focus my niche because I wanted to include everyone and did not want to leave out non-believers. That was the enemy tricking my mind.
Where did obedience cost you something—money, time, identity, approval? And how did you handle the tension?
Disobedience cost me money, time, and my confidence. When I pursued my own selfish, material goals, I suffered. Sales were low, clients were difficult, I was stressed, eventually burned out — and still broke. Surrendering my business to God changed the trajectory entirely.
Obedience to God has given me more peace, less anxiety, more aligned clients, and less strife.
