The SAVEDpreneur™ Spotlight: Shamica Davis, Founder of JTS Vacations

Shamica Davis has always had a servant’s heart — and she has built an entire business around it. As the founder of JTS Vacations and the Travel CEO Academy, she creates custom travel experiences for busy individuals and helps aspiring entrepreneurs find their footing in the travel industry. But for Shamica, the work has never been just about destinations. It has always been about people — their relationships, their healing, and the moments that happen when the distractions of everyday life are finally removed. She is a travel professional, a mentor, and, by her own account, a minister in motion.

Let's lean in.

Tell us who you are and what is your God-driven purpose?

My name is Shamica Davis, and I am the Founder of JTS Vacations. I serve my clients by creating custom travel experiences for busy individuals who do not want the hassle or do not have the time to plan them themselves.

What does it mean to be saved and how do you live a saved lifestyle?

To be saved is to be a follower and disciple of Jesus Christ — to obey His commandments. John 8:31–32 says, “If you hold to my teachings, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.”

I look for ways to witness and share the news of my Savior, Jesus Christ, daily. I have a relationship with Him. I seek His face daily and ask for His will to be done in my life. I try to exercise the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. But most importantly, I try to show the love of God to my fellow man.

Many of us want to be successful. What does success mean to you?

Success is feeling fulfilled in what I do daily, making a difference in someone’s life, and bringing happiness when I meet them. It is not about money, but the impact that I can make — and being able to get up and look forward to the day. I have all the necessities to live and a relationship with my heavenly Father. To me, that is success.

When God gave you a vision for your life/work, what did it look like? Are you working to fulfill it? How?

I have always had a servant’s heart. When I took my first vacation with my husband and our family, I loved it so much that I turned my passion into a business. I started doing it and realized how I was making other people feel in the process. It became my form of ministry. You really get to know a person when you start asking them impactful questions. People begin to share a lot about their lives and, believe it or not, their challenges. My opportunity to talk with them and share my experiences led to friendships and trust. During some of those moments, I was a light to them, and I was told that I was a God-send. I have made some great friends simply from planning experiences for my clients.

What does being a SAVEDpreneur™ mean to you? What is your kingdom assignment and how are you carrying out your assignment now?

A SAVEDpreneur™, to me, means an entrepreneur who ministers through their business — one who can exemplify the love of the Lord in their work and how they serve people.

My Kingdom assignment is to minister to those who come into JTS Vacations, create memorable experiences, and help them understand that a vacation can be an opportunity to reconnect — whether in their marriage, their family, or their relationship with the Father. Most of us are busy professionals, and we simply do not make time for those relationships. A few days away can give you the opportunity to work on your weak areas because the distractions of everyday routine have been removed.

What did God call you to build, and how did you know? What steps did you take to be obedient? How quickly did it take you to answer the call?

God called me to build businesses that serve people while honoring Him — including JTS Vacations, the Travel CEO Academy, and DAS Management Companies & Co.

The calling did not come as one loud moment. It unfolded through conviction, frustration, and prayer. Years ago, I was planning travel for my own family and kept running into the same issue. Large online travel sites lacked personal care. Travelers had little guidance. When something went wrong, no one truly owned the experience. I kept thinking there had to be a better way to serve people. That burden stayed with me, and over time it became clear that God was not just showing me a problem — He was asking me to help solve it.

The first step was obedience through action. I began studying the travel industry and built JTS Vacations from the ground up, focused on service, relationships, and real experiences for travelers. Later, the vision expanded. I realized many people wanted to enter the travel industry but had no roadmap, and that led to the creation of the Travel CEO Academy, where I help others start and grow their travel businesses.

I did not answer the call instantly. Like many people, I wrestled with the weight of it. I prayed and questioned whether I was prepared. But the pieces started coming together, and once I understood that the calling was about service rather than perfection, I moved forward. Obedience is a process of daily decisions — you do the next thing God places in front of you and trust Him with the outcome. That is what I am doing.

Where did obedience cost you something—money, time, identity, approval? And how did you handle the tension?

Obedience always carries a cost. For me, the biggest costs were time, financial risk, and identity. There were seasons when I invested money back into the business while seeing very little return. There were long hours — late nights planning trips, early mornings answering clients, weekends building systems and relationships. People often see the finished brand. They do not see the years of quiet work behind it.

There were also moments when obedience required letting go of approval. Not everyone understands faith-driven decisions. Some people measure success only by speed or income. But calling is not built that way. Sometimes obedience looks slow, and sometimes it looks uncertain.

In those moments, I relied on three anchors: prayer for clarity and strength, scripture for direction, and the discipline to keep moving even when results were not immediate. Over time, you begin to see fruit. Travelers have life-changing experiences. Entrepreneurs build businesses of their own. Doors open that you could not have planned. That is when you realize that obedience is not just about building a company — it is about building something that serves people and reflects the character of the One who called you to build it. And that makes every cost worth it.

What upcoming projects are you working on that you want our readers to know about?

I am currently launching software for business continuity and succession planning called BizContinuumAI. It ensures your business keeps running smoothly, no matter what happens. As a solopreneur, there are many things that need to be handled in the unlikely event of incapacity or death, and this software was created to protect any business owner. I am also launching several other business-related software tools, which can be found at DASManagementCo.com/access.
