The SAVEDpreneur™ Spotlight: Monica S. McQueen, Founder of Kore-Dinate Agency

I believe I’m carrying out the assignment well. There’s always room for improvement, and with every level that God elevates me to, the assignments get heavier.

Monica S. McQueen did not plan to become an author, a fatherhood advocate, or a platform builder. She planned to grieve. But in the middle of a therapy session months after losing her father in April 2020, her therapist said something she would not fully understand until two years later: “Monica, you’ve been gifted with the gift of forgiveness.” That gift became a book. Monica’s story is proof that God can take your deepest grief and turn it into your greatest assignment.

Let's lean in.

Tell us who you are and when did you know God was calling you to do more and be more?

I’m Monica S. McQueen, an Event and Administrative Strategist who thrives on creating functional systems, managing event logistics, and curating safe and life-changing environments for individuals.

I knew God was calling me to do more a few months after my father passed away in April 2020. During a grief therapy session, my therapist said, “Monica, I don’t think you realize it, but you’ve been gifted with the gift of forgiveness.” I didn’t understand what she meant in that moment, but fast forward to 2022, I published my first book titled The Gift of Forgiveness: Unpacking the Impact of Fatherlessness and Restoration. I knew then that over the past few years, God had a plan and purpose for me through the book and my story. What I wasn’t expecting was the weight of my obedience and how impactful it would be to others — whether through an event, a podcast interview, a fireside chat, or a conversation with a close friend. I understand more now than I did in 2020: I was called to carry this mantle.

Who first introduced you to God and what was your salvation experience?

My beautiful mother first introduced me to God. Ever since I was born, I was in church. As I got older, I realized her prayer life and personal relationship with God played a major part in our lives. I remember as a young girl, seeing my mother sitting at the dining room table, going through the bills, sometimes crying but praying out loud in faith, asking God to step in. For 21 years, I never saw her waver in her faith — nor did the lights, water, or electricity ever go out. It was then, at the age of 10, that I decided to dedicate my life to Christ and was water baptized. I knew that based on how He kept us, I needed to know Him for myself.

Success doesn’t happen overnight. What has been your process to see success in your life?

Success for me has been the small victories turning into big wins. Asking questions, doing research, taking leaps of faith, making sacrifices, and investing in myself and the knowledge of others I admire.

Success has also looked like not giving up, even when I wanted to — but I knew I couldn’t because I had come so far. Being patient with myself, giving myself grace, and doing my best not to compare myself to others, because we all have our own paths. And finally, being okay with things not always working out. Sometimes you have to fail in order to succeed.

What does having “vision” mean to you? What is your vision?

To me, having vision means being able to see beyond your current circumstances and having the right amount of faith and determination to turn that vision into a reality. It also means sometimes going against the grain of what everyone else thinks or is doing — even if it means you look crazy doing it. Let’s be honest: God gave Noah a vision and people laughed at him until the rain came. Then they needed him and regretted ever doubting him.

My vision is to build legacy while I still have breath in my lungs. To die empty and fulfill everything I was created to do. Overall, my vision is to break the generational curses and cycles in my family so the generations who come after me will not endure what I or the older generations experienced. To become debt free, financially free, and the first millionaire in my family. To become the first sought-after Black female Fatherhood Advocate. To travel and speak, facilitate, and minister at educational institutions, corporations, and faith-based organizations around the world. And to be a great wife to my future husband and a great mother to my future children.

What does being a SAVEDpreneur™ mean to you? What is your kingdom assignment and how are you carrying out your assignment now?

Being a SAVEDpreneur™ means being able to operate in the gifts and talents that God gave me and operating according to the Bible — not by the world’s standards. I can do this AND that!

I believe my Kingdom assignment is to speak, teach, and write. I’m called to bring structure, organization, unity, joy, hope, and peace into every environment I belong to. To inspire and encourage others — especially women and fathers — that all hope is not lost.

I believe I’m carrying out the assignment well. There’s always room for improvement, and with every level that God elevates me to, the assignments get heavier. But I’m grateful for the individuals and environments God has trusted me with. I do not take it lightly or for granted. As one of my Associate Pastors always says, “I get to do this.” It is a joy, a privilege, and an honor to speak life into someone, be a connection or resource to someone, or serve others and my church.

What did God call you to build, and how did you know? What steps did you take to be obedient? How quickly did it take you to answer the call?

God has called me to build multiple things. However, the two most present and active right now are an author talk series called Celebrating Voices and a cohort called Healing Father Wounds, for individuals and fathers who want to heal their father wounds and become better fathers — currently in beta phase.

The author talks started in April 2025, on the fifth anniversary of my father’s passing. It is an event for Black authors to have a platform to share their story, present their book, answer questions, and have a book signing. Attendees who are writing a book or thinking about writing one can connect on-site with a publisher, editor, graphic designer, and illustrator to help them bring their book to life. It has been a joy to connect with local Black authors and curate a space for community.

The cohort is based on my book and lived experiences, as well as the recurring question I am always asked: How did you forgive your dad? How did you prepare for the hard conversations? I know many people who didn’t have the best relationship with their father. Although the first 19 years of my relationship with mine were difficult, the last 13 years made up for them. I was truly gifted with the gift of forgiveness, and I want others to experience it as well.

The steps I took were prayer, fasting, seeking guidance from my mentors, and doing research. For the author talks, it took me two months to be obedient to the call. For the cohort, about a month — and I’m already asking God to slow down, but I don’t think He’s listening, so I’m pushing forward.

Where did obedience cost you something—money, time, identity, approval? And how did you handle the tension?

I’d say all of the above, to be honest. I spent many late nights working on the things He’s called me to do. I’ve given up things I wanted to do and places I wanted to go, knowing I had to be obedient. I always try to remember that no matter what God calls me to do, it is always bigger than me.
