Carlos Giovanni Pantoja — known as Gio — has never had an easy road. Marked by mental health struggles, family hardship, and years of internal wrestling with a calling he could not shake, he spent more than five years fighting the pull before finally surrendering to it. In 2025, he founded Trailblazer Unbound, a bilingual faith-driven media and apparel brand built to uplift people who are striving for something better. His message is simple and his conviction is clear: you were not made to stay bound. He is proof of that.

Tell us who you are and when did you know God was calling you to do more and be more?

My name is Carlos Giovanni Pantoja, but I go by Gio. Throughout my life, I have been marked by significant pain and exposure to severe mental health struggles, including depression and anxiety. Yet, through it all, God has been a constant presence — a protector and father figure, guiding and teaching me.

Today, society faces similar challenges. Over the past year, I felt a strong calling from God to step forward and help uplift others who are striving for something better in their lives. My purpose is to inspire, motivate, and help others overcome life’s obstacles by building a sustainable path with Him. This calling led to the founding of Trailblazer Unbound in 2025.

We aim to be your primary resource for encouragement, a reminder of your true identity, and a confirmation of what God can do through you.

What was your first encounter with God and how did you know you were saved?

I first met God when I was a kid, during a really tough time for my family. When my mom was dealing with her lowest point in her mental health journey, God showed up in my life and gave me the strength to take care of her while my dad worked all day to support our family. It was through this experience that I actually saw His healing power work through prayer. Every single day was a new experience, and I just kept feeling His presence more and more. It was in those moments — and many others — that I realized I had this incredible Heavenly Father looking out for us, and that He was actually using me to help other people.

Many of us want to be successful. What does success mean to you?

Everyone grapples with the question of how to achieve success, and the path varies widely. Some individuals pursue success through academia and the corporate 9-to-5 life, while others leverage their talents in fields like music or sports. Still others commit to the grit and grind of entrepreneurship to build successful businesses. I have experience in both the corporate world and now as a new business owner, which has given me perspective on these different avenues.

However, I’ve found that the greatest fulfillment and impact didn’t come until I recognized and stepped into my God-given calling.

Corporate success can be exhilarating and powerful, but ultimately, you are often just a replaceable number within a larger organization. Similarly, a business venture or a talent-based career can falter. Success rooted in your divine calling, though, is far more enduring and significant — your impact is larger and the satisfaction is immeasurable. As the Lord says, “Seek God’s Kingdom and righteousness first, and all things will come.”

What does having “vision” mean to you? What is your vision?

My vision is a powerful movement, extending far beyond a mere podcast or brand. It’s about cultivating a robust platform and building a strong community — a tribe — of people who are deeply uplifted by God and His essential message, and who in turn are empowered to uplift others within our community. I envision a vast force of people rising up to become unbound trailblazers, walking unshaken.

What does being a SAVEDpreneur™ mean to you? What is your kingdom assignment and how are you carrying out your assignment now?

To me, being a SAVEDpreneur™ signifies a profound assignment and opportunity granted by God. My commitment is to fulfill His directive to share His message broadly. Through Trailblazer Unbound’s podcasts and YouTube channel, I am actively pursuing this goal, and I plan to expand this platform to fully realize the vision and mission that God has given me.

What did God call you to build, and how did you know? What steps did you take to be obedient? How quickly did it take you to answer the call?

God called me to spread His message in a bilingual way — to uplift people who are going through struggles and are looking to sustainably find the true path to success. John 14:6 is my inspiration and my motive.

Was this decision easy? Absolutely not. I was fighting a strong, burning desire in my heart to put this calling into motion because I was comfortable — comfortable in my 9-to-5 and in the fact that everything was apparently going well. For over five years I had been fighting this internally, until I simply could not do it anymore. God’s calling for me was too strong to ignore, and I had to be obedient.

Where did obedience cost you something—money, time, identity, approval? And how did you handle the tension?

Obedience is costing me as we speak. Today I am investing money to put this in motion. I am also wrestling with self-comfort and the challenge of people who simply do not believe in what I am trying to do. But I stay focused and locked into my calling, the vision and mission that God is showing me, and His promise to help others.

Do I doubt myself every day? Yes, I do. But I have scars. I have evidence that God has overcome tough situations in the past — unlocked doors that led to purpose and success. And with that as the basis of my faith, I know that His promise and His God-given success are just around the corner.
